  1. Make sure to reset any previous searches

  2. Go to Actions – Import

  3. Paste the OCLC number into the box

    1. Make sure Inventory Single Record is selected in the drop down

  4. The record will be brought into Folio–you’ll see a green notification box pop up and then the record should appear in the Instance record pane

  5. Remove any URLs in the record. Double check this by going to Actions – View Source

    1. Scroll down to the field labelled 856. If there is no 856, you are good! If you see an 856, you’ll need to delete that field

  6. Click on the X in the upper left to close the record view. Then click on Actions – Edit MARC bibliographic record

  7. Scroll down to the field labelled 856. Click on the trash can icon next to that field

  8. Save & Close.

  9. Add your holdings record and items (see below)

  1. Use the Inventory module to search for the instance of the item in your hand 

  2. Choose the correct instance 

  3. In the Instance record pane, click on Add Holdings

  4. Under Location, choose UMass Amherst Science Board Games from the Permanent drop down

  5. Under Call number type, choose Other scheme

  6. Use the Call number field for the call number

  7. Save and close.

Next add items

  1. In the Inventory record pane, click on Add item next to the appropriate holdings record

  2. Under Item data, select Analog Game from the Material type drop down

  3. Under Loan and availability, choose 1 Week from the Permanent loan type drop down

  4. If we are using any Check in/Check out notes, add them at this time

  5. Scan in the barcode into the Barcode field at the top of the record

  6. The record should automatically save
