Make sure to validate both the content standard and encoding for the MARC file. If you have a 001 and 003, FOLIO will create a 035 \\$a. In the example below, the new system generated 035 will be 035 \\$a (OCoLC)ocm55872349. If you don’t want this field automatically generated, then you need to remove the 001 and 003 before you import. Remember to remove any characters such as the “\” that appear at the end of the OCLC number in the 001. For those terms that appear in drop down menus such as item material type, you must spell them and have the same case in your incoming file as that term appears in the drop down. Our load MARC fields are:

  • 852: Contains information for the holdings record like call number, call number type, permanent location. For location, it is recommended to use the code and not the display name. In the example below, SRBC instead of SC Rare Book Collection.

  • 876: Contains information for the item record like barcode, permanent loan type, and item status.

  • 877$m: Contains the item material type phrase
