General NACO information

NACO training

When new libraries contact the Funnel Coordinator about joining

  • All libraries who join NACO, whether singly or to join a funnel, are required to submit an application through the PCC Secretariat

  • Once approved, the library requests training through the PCC Secretariat

    • There are no longer regular NACO trainings

    • They are scheduled on demand for new libraries, or perhaps quarterly?

    • Training is fully online and occurs over the course of 5 weeks, through live online courses

    • Participants have to login and attend at a specific time twice per week

  • For all new contributors, from both new libraries who joined our funnel, and also for all new 5C trained contributors:

    • Once training is complete, attendees are able to create NARs during a review period

    • All newly trained individuals at any library are required to go through review. The Funnel Coordinator for the Massachusetts/Five College Funnel is the reviewer

    • The goal is for all new NAR creators to become fully independent

    • For any creators who do not achieve independence, their NARs will be reviewed in perpetuity
